The unit has RJ45 at one end and 4 screw type of connectors at the other end. This is manufactured by MROTEK for their ASMI52 3MBPS leased line modem but can be used for loop back testing of any make of modems. Mrotek’s Loopback tester is designed and formulated for the configuration of RAD’s ASMi-52 SHDSL modem/multiplexer for data and voice that operates in full-duplex mode over 2-wire and 4-wire lines. Symmetric high-speed DSL (SHDSL) was based on high-data-rate DSL (HDSL) and is specified in the ITU recommendation G.991.2 (December 2003) titled “Single-Pair High-Speed Digital Subscriber Line Transceivers”. Single-pair SHDSL transceivers can support selected symmetric user data rates in the range of 192 to 2312 kbps using a Trellis Coded Pulse Amplitude Modulation (TCPAM) line code. The industry standard for SHDSL is defined by ITU-T recommendation G.991.2. This was first published in February 2001.
